For Specialized Bikes, I worked as a supporting designer with a lead, focusing on Mission Control, an app for advanced users and pro riders to customize their e-bike riding experience. My contributions included:
Smart Control Setup: Designed the experience for users to input ride parameters such as:
Target heart rate, allowing the bike to adjust support to maintain the rider’s heart rate.
Ride distance, elevation gain, and remaining battery at the end of the ride, helping riders manage battery usage.
Locking/Unlocking Bikes & Bike Registration: Developed the interface for securely locking and unlocking bikes, and assisted with the bike registration process to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for users.
Managing Alerts: Worked on features to help users manage notifications and alerts related to bike performance and ride conditions.
Icon Exploration for the Ride App: Explored different iconography options to improve the visual design and user navigation for the Ride app, which supported riders in finding and joining rides.
Conceptualizing a New Home Feed: Explored different design ideas for the app’s home screen to improve the user experience. Although the final design went in a different direction, I contributed to early concepts.
Design System & Responsive Design: Helped organize the design system across platforms, ensuring consistency in both web and mobile experiences. I also worked on responsive design for apps like Rider Hub and Ride, ensuring a seamless experience across devices.
This project allowed me to apply my skills to a complex digital product aimed at a specialized audience, giving riders more control over their e-bike performance and enhancing the overall user experience.
