Overview

Participated in Vail Resorts’ Project Shazam at Mondo Robot, using predictive analytics to enhance guest experience management around lift wait times.

Challenge

Tackled guest concerns over overcrowding due to variable pricing and no reservation system, aiming to refine guest planning and onsite experiences.

Pitch and Collaboration

“Beat the Heat” pitch was a collective effort. Boris and I spearheaded design efforts while the leadership team contributed to the narrative. Proposed solutions included a predictive heat map and innovative blue sky concepts like real-time alerts and advanced planning tools.

Final Solution

The final solution for Project Shazam at Vail Resorts featured several effective tools. The Lift List displayed lifts in real-time, sorted by wait times and proximity to help guests plan efficiently. A Color-Coded Map highlighted areas with longer wait times, guiding guests to less crowded areas. Additionally, Predictive Messaging sent automated alerts based on crowd predictions, enhancing the guest experience by optimizing visit planning.

Our Process

Focused on rapid ideation and collaborative design, transitioning to another project post-design phase, with Boris overseeing subsequent development.

Impact

Our initial engagement and demonstrated expertise led Vail Resorts to re-engage Mondo Robot for a comprehensive redesign of their Epic Mix app after dissatisfaction with another vendor’s efforts.
